Mechanical Design Engineer

A Mechanical Design Engineer job in Cincinnati, Ohio is currently available through Belcan at one of our key aerospace clients. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and five (5) years of relevant experience.

Job Duties:
*Participate in the entire design cycle of mechanical subsystems, including conceptual and detailed design, trade studies, and development testing
*Design test enabling hardware to validate aerospace components and systems
*Perform engineering calculations to validate component and system design (free body diagrams, structural analysis, vibration analysis, flow analysis, and heat transfer analysis)
*Review manufacturing drawings to ensure form, fit and function
*Perform tolerance stacks and analysis in accordance with ASME Y14.5 2009
*Work within a team environment to achieve the desired project goals and ensure the project tasks are completed on time, on budget, and with technical excellence
*Create technical documentation in support of the development and testing of flight hardware

Required Qualifications:
*Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar
*Five (5) years of experience in the engineering field
*Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
*Experience designing Aerospace or equivalent types of mechanical systems
*Experience designing structures or rotating parts
*Experience designing bearing, seals, drives, sumps, and lube systems
*Experience designing test rigs or test stands
*Hands on experience with assembly or testing
*Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 2009
*Working knowledge of design cycle, conception to production, for components or systems
*Experience in structural FEA using ANSYS or similar tools
*Proficient in 3D CAD, utilizing Siemens NX

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $85,000-$115,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
