Description

The Junior Portfolio Manager will be responsible for providing support to their assigned Financial Advisor/ Portfolio Manager. Individuals in this role will typically cover a broad range of responsibilities, including account openings, Support in daily activities and administration of accounts. Other responsibilities include:



  • Manages accounts, ensuring complete and accurate documentation and compliance with governing documents, Bank policies and state and federal laws.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with clients through responding to client needs, identifying cross-sell opportunities, and reaching out to potential clients.
  • Participates in the planning, researching, and implementation of special projects.
  • Coordinates activities such as client communications, discretionary distributions, cash management, investment management, holistic annual account reviews and maintains appropriate records.
  • Works closely with attorneys, accountants and bank relationship managers to develop new referral sources and new account opportunities.
  • May assist with conducting all aspects involved with managing portfolios, including executing all trades, maintaining investment action plans, monitoring and addressing overdrafts, conducting Reg 9 investment reviews, and documenting account activities and client interaction.
  • Works closely with management and/or independently to plan, facilitate, and carry out team initiatives, including business development, team building, and policy or process changes.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent educational/work experience preferred.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience.


Skills:



  • Strong written communication skills to create detailed, yet concise reports, and good verbal communication skills to interact with clients and give presentations.
  • Analytical skills to interpret complex financial information.
  • Decision making skills to respond to market conditions and take decisive action when needed.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; basic keyboarding and calculator skills; must be able to perform basic math and carry out written instructions.
  • Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential functions of the position.
