The impact you'll make

As a Systems Engineer for Lab Operations Development at Lam, you will contribute to the design and installation of complex systems used to implement and automate lab operations business processes in Lam's product labs around the globe. You will define system specifications, requirements, parameters, and compatibility to integrate hardware, software, and firmware into a cohesive system. By identifying, analyzing, and resolving system design weaknesses, combined with your multi-layered technical expertise, you will help shape the next generation of Lam product labs.This role manages the implementation of Lam lab architectural, automation, and operational guidelines and BKMs during the design, build, and startup of new Lam labs.

What you'll do
  • Contribute to the design and installation/implementation of complex automation systems and processes used in the operations of the next generation of Lam's product labs.
  • Manage the implementation of Lam lab architectural, automation, and operational guidelines and Best Known Methods (BKMs) during the design, build, and startup of new Lam labs.
  • Ensure integration of existing and evolving Lam lab architectural and automation guidelines and BKMs in the design and build of new labs.
  • Ensure integration of existing and evolving Lam lab operational and staffing guidelines and BKMs during the startup of new labs.
  • Direct the goals, roles, responsibilities, and work output of assigned project managers.
Who we're looking for
  • Minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 12 years of experience with a Master's degree; or 8 years of experience with a PhD; or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in cleanroom operations or cleanroom facilities management.
  • Experience in program and/or project management.
  • Strong program and/or project management skills.
  • Highly motivated to lead a team to success.
  • Always seeking improvement and driving projects to timely closure.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage timelines effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and people skills.
  • Strong leadership and influence management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and 3D.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
