Position Overview:

The Pharmacy Informaticist Analyst is a pharmacy trained clinician responsible for providing clinical expertise on the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement, of clinical and health IT systems, including Electronic Health Records (EHRs), Telehealth, Mobile health, and other HIT systems. This role includes duties of complex configurations to support the Epic applications within the Epic electronic health record (EHR) software for our member hospitals and clinics, primarily focused on the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of Epic Inpatient Willow pharmacy system as well as the use of medications in related Epic modules, such as Epic Inpatient, Anesthesia, Op-Time and Epic Ambulatory. This role requires a strong understanding of pharmacy operations and workflows, as well as the technical capabilities of the Epic Willow system and Epic Orders. Collaboration with members and internal staff is a key part of this role to provide solutions that offer accurate, secure, and efficient workflows, with a focus on quality outcomes for our member organizations.

Essential Functions:

• Clinical & Strategic Collaboration: Partner with clinical leadership, pharmacy teams, and OCHIN members to align strategy, optimize workflows, and provide subject matter expertise in pharmacy operations and Epic Willow.
• System Configuration & Implementation: Perform complex builds, configurations, and testing in Epic Willow, Orders and related products to support clinical workflows, regulatory compliance, and system optimization.
• Training, Support & Mentorship: Provide training, mentorship, and ongoing support to pharmacy staff, provider builders, and new members before, during, and after implementation or system updates.
• Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues; collaborate with cross-functional teams to address integration challenges and ensure smooth system performance.
• Knowledge Management & Documentation: Develop and maintain system documentation, policies, user guides, and Clinical Decision Support (CDS) content; share workflow best practices and contribute to clinical content review.
• Reporting & Compliance: Generate reports, analyze data to support decision-making, and ensure Epic Willow remains compliant with pharmacy regulations, best practices, and organizational standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Clinical degree or equivalent relevant combination of education and experience preferred.
• PhD and licensure (PharmD) preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in acute care pharmacy operations with strong understanding of pharmacy operations and workflows preferred.
• Substantial applied informatics background required - 3+ years' experience and/or substantial contribution to OCHIN or the field related to medication use processes, clinical decision support, and pharmacy information systems preferred.
• Epic Willow Inpatient certification and experience required. Knowledge of the Epic Willow pharmacy information system and Epic Orders including configuration and maintenance is required.
• Working knowledge of Epic Beacon preferred for oversight of medication build strategies.
• Availability for occasional travel up to 10%, including supporting go-lives according to OCHIN's policy (go-live support is required; this support is sometimes provided virtually).
• Previous experience with Critical Access Hospitals is highly desired.
• Previous experience with 340b Drug Pricing Program is desired.

Base Pay Overview

OCHIN uses broadened pay ranges to support equitable and market-aligned compensation practices. Pay information by position level is listed below. The final offer will be based on a variety of factors, including relevant skills, certifications, education, experience, training, responsibilities, internal equity, and market data.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

• While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.
• This position requires a virtual home-office environment, working remotely and will require that employees be on camera for all virtual meetings.
• The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and mobile devices.
• Travel may be required to support OCHIN's business requirements for Go-Live installations or training which may require travel by air, vehicle, or train.

Work Location and Travel Requirements

OCHIN is a 100% remote organization with no physical corporate office location. Employees work remotely from home and many of our positions also support our member organizations on-site for new software installations. Nationwide travel is determined based on OCHIN business needs. Please inquire during the interview process about travel requirements for this position.
