Schedule:

Monday - Thursday 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. w/ possible OT on Friday/Saturday

Benefits:

Sign-on Bonus:

$1,000 TOTAL = $500 @ 3 months AND $500 @ 9 months of service.

Job Output

A wood finisher enhances wood products by sanding, applying stains, sealants, and finishes to achieve a desired look and durability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Must be able to pass a color test, wear a respirator and pass a PFT.
  • Complies with all safety requirements of the plant, including wearing required breathing PPE.
  • Prepare wood surfaces by sanding, filling cracks and other wood repairs.
  • Removing sanding dust from parts to be finished.
  • Apply stains, sealants, lacquers and paints to wood walls and ceilings and other wood components.
  • Operate tools such as random orbit sanders, spray guns and line sanders.
  • Inspect finished products for defects such as blotches, uneven coating or other damage.
  • Maintains clean and safe work environment.
  • Maintains tools and equipment used in the finishing process.
  • Must have excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Properly dispose of unused and outdated chemicals in a timely manner.
  • Must have excellent attendance records
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Other duties as required by management.

  • Ability to work in an industrial environment (i.e. Ability to wear required PPE, work in a dusty, hot, non-climate controlled environment; with stairs, frequent walking, standing and occasional lifting of material)
  • Knowledge of wood types and how they respond to different finishes
  • Attention to detail
  • Manual dexterity and physical stamina for repetitive tasks, such as wiping stains.
  • Ability to follow standard work instructions, read blueprints and fill out 1st piece and while running checklists.

Architectural Components Group, Inc. (ACGI), a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (AWI), is one of twenty AWI plants in North America.Our Marshfield plant in south western Missouriisconveniently located within 3 hours to large cities such as Tulsa, Kansas City, and St. Louis as well as within 30 minutes to thesmaller city of Springfield.
