To plan, approve, and supervise cranes and rigging operations on a system-wide basis for the company. To ensure coordination with all Federal, State, and City agencies and compliance with all applicable requirements and company procedures. To direct and supervise company employees and contractors supporting all cranes and rigging projects. To support and oversee all aspects of training, licensing qualifications, permitting, and inspections of cranes and rigging equipment, personnel, and projects. To act as a Project Manager for rigging operations as necessary. To foster a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment through open communication.
Core Responsibilities
- Hold a NYC Master Rigger's License.
- Oversee all types of cranes and rigging operations and comply with all Federal, State, City, and municipalities within the Con Edison and Orange and Rockland service territories. Create and approve lift plans.
- Interface with all governmental agencies to comply with all applications, permitting, and licensing associated with the company's crane and rigging operations.
- Project manage and direct company employees and contractors in various cranes and rigging projects.
- Support all aspects of the purchasing, maintenance, inspections, of cranes, rigging, heavy hauling vehicles, and equipment.
- Act as a subject matter expert on all related cranes and rigging operations.
- Promote a safe workplace by performing inspections and reviews of work in the field.
- Provide support and guidance to employees performing cranes and rigging activities.
- Review cranes and rigging training program and provide guidance and feedback.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
- Support a diverse and inclusive team through open communication.
Required Education/Experience
- High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of relevant experience
Relevant Work Experience
- 3-5 years Working in the cranes and rigging industry. Required

- Well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments and

- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.

Physical Demands
- Must respond to system emergencies
- Must work at field locations in all weather conditions
- Must perform extended driving through heavy traffic and severe off-road conditions
- Must work in, under, and on top of all types of company vehicles/equipment
- Must work in an environment that includes heat, noise, confined spaces, and high elevations
- Must work on elevated platforms, scaffolds, catwalks, roofs, or equipment
- Must enter underground vaults through manholes
- Must work with and in the vicinity of high voltage and/or other high-energy systems
- Must climb in and out of manholes and excavations
- Must walk, stand, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach
- Must travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies
- Must wear all necessary personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including; fire retardant clothing and safety harness
- Must work rotating shifts, including nights, midnights, weekends, and holidays
- Must work with equipment with manufacturer weight rating of 350 llbs.
- Must be able to use equipment with a maximum weight rating of 375 lbs when wearing and/or carrying 25lbs of clothing and equipment.
Additional Physical Demands
- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to use ladders and all safety related Personal Protection Equipment as required.
- Must be able to drive to all location within the Con Edison and Orange and Rockland service territories.
- Must be able to work extended shifts and overtime as system conditions dictate.
- Must be able to complete all related training for the position.
