About This Role
This position will support the continued growth of CORE's research and training programs in epidemiology, food animal health, and transboundary diseases. The successful candidate will contribute to a highly collaborative research environment and play a key role in advancing externally funded research and graduate training. Responsibilities include developing and leading collaborative research in animal health, transboundary diseases, and knowledge synthesis and translation; securing external funding, including serving as Principal Investigator on competitive grants; designing and implementing studies; analyzing and interpreting data; disseminating findings and decision-support tools; managing research projects, data, trainees, and staff; and contributing to epidemiology training through advising, course coordination, and instruction at the professional and graduate levels. About Us CORE is an interdisciplinary research center dedicated to generating decision-ready evidence to improve animal health, food systems, and public health. The Center integrates epidemiology, data science, economics, and applied field research to address complex challenges, including transboundary and emerging diseases, livestock production health, and knowledge synthesis and translation. CORE collaborates closely with federal, state, and industry partners to deliver impactful, stakeholder-driven research. Worksite Description This position is On-site. All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho. What You'll Need to Succeed Minimum Qualifications: - MS in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related field The degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.
