Job Description

Vanir PNW seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead project management activities for K12 new construction and renovation projects. The role supports all project phases, ensuring compliance with contract documents, schedule, budget, and quality requirements. Reports to the Project Director and may supervise administrative staff, project engineers, and assistant CM/PM personnel. Position may be required to travel to other projects throughout the state of WA.

Responsibilities will include providing the planning, coordination and direction for project management activities during all phases of projects to ensure they are on time, within budget and schedule, cost controlled, and project performance to ensure the requirements for the contract. Maintain management and project facilitation for successful completion and compliance with contractual, owner and Vanir requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Lead planning, coordination, and execution of K12 projects to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality goals
  • Serve as primary liaison with school districts, design teams, contractors, and public agencies
  • Develop project procedures, documentation, and support contract and A/E coordination
  • Oversee cost management, schedules, change management, risk mitigation, and project controls
  • Lead design coordination, constructability reviews, bid phases, and project meetings
  • Track progress against milestones and KPIs; prepare clear status reports for stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, permits, and public agency requirements
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop PMs, Assistant PMs, CMs, and project staff
  • Support successful project closeout and turnover to owner

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in project or construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • 7+ years project management experience, including seniorlevel oversight and staff supervision
  • Experience working with public agencies and school districts
  • Applied experience leading or participating in procurement processes, including RFPs, RFQs, and bid evaluations
  • Experience mentoring teams and staff, fostering collaboration and effective performance in teambased environments
  • Applied experience in project accounting, cost management, administrative functions, and professional personnel interaction
  • Proficiency with MS Office and CM systems (Procore, Primavera, Bluebeam preferred)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications.
  • Experience managing design phases (user groups, constructability reviews, spec development).
  • Ability to manage deadlines, solve issues proactively, and track items to resolution.
  • Experience with local permitting authorities.
  • Effective negotiation skills (especially change orders).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products and project related systems such as Bluebeam, Prolog, Primavera.
  • Applied experience with project controls tools (Prolog, Primavera) and advanced application of estimating, cost control, scheduling, and construction principles.

Preferred Credentials & Experience:

  • Experience working with school districts on bond planning
  • Experience managing planning, design and construction of K12 school projects.
  • Architect, Engineer, or General Contractor license.
  • PMP certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience with designbuild delivery; DBIA certification or commitment to obtain.
