Position Purpose:

Utilizing high level negotiation and relationship management skills, this position develops and implements technical, strategic sourcing by partnering with senior-level vendor business leaders. Works closely with multiple divisions, serving as liaison with vendors for all technical product and service contract support, analysis, and negotiation.

This position will be responsible for:

  • Leading negotiation efforts for key contracts.
  • Providing expert consultation, advice and recommendations around contractual risks and how to mitigate to senior management.

What You Will Do:

  • Leads the acquisition, negotiation, and renewal functions related to technical vendor contracts. Evaluates and determines the most cost-effective and efficient means of acquiring technical hardware, software, and services.
  • Responsible for the negotiation or creation of all technical contract expenditures. Evaluates contract compliance and advises others on contractual rights and obligations. Requests or approves amendments to contract terms or contract extensions.
  • Participates in strategic planning and development of technical acquisition strategies. Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulator issues. Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and monitors vendor performance. Leads major dispute resolution between the organization and technical vendors when there is a concern with supplier performance.

To Qualify For This Position, You Will Need:

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's in a job related field
  • Or an additional 4 years job related work experience
  • Or Associate's plus an additional 2 years job related work experience.

Required Work Experience:

  • 10+ years of strategic technology contract negotiation experience.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of strategic contract negotiation techniques.
  • Highly adept with risk mitigation techniques employed in contract negotiations to include drafting and reviewing contract language.
  • High level of competency in high level negotiations to include both corporate and vendor c suite executives.
  • Able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrated flexibility for adapting to both changing business and client needs, and a changing technical environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge base in related area.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent and effective communication, customer service and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex information with understanding to a variety of audiences who have different levels of experience and knowledge.

Required Software and Other Tools:

  • Expert knowledge of word processing, and spreadsheet applications. Standard office equipment; phone, copier, fax, computer, etc.

Work Environment: Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer. Some travel between office buildings.
