Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities for Utility/Bus Washer/Fueler: Vehicle Cleaning, Fueling & Servicing
    Perform thorough exterior washing, interior cleaning, and detailing of all fleet vehicles to ensure they meet contract cleanliness standards and are fully prepared for daily service.
  • Ensure all vehicles are completely fueled, fluids topped off, and consumables replenished at required intervals throughout the day.
  • Conduct basic inspections during fueling and cleaning, identifying mechanical, cosmetic, or safety-related issues.
  • Document and report all vehicle damage-new or existing-to the appropriate personnel, ensuring timely communication and proper followup.
  • Safely operate buses and service vehicles within the yard and designated areas while adhering to all safety protocols.
Bus Shelter & Facility Maintenance
  • Clean and maintain all City of Roseville bus shelters, including removing trash, wiping surfaces, cleaning glass panels, and ensuring shelters remain safe, sanitary, and welcoming for passengers.
  • Perform light maintenance tasks at shelters such as graffiti removal, debris pickup, and reporting structural or safety concerns.
  • Restock shelter supplies as needed (e.g., trash liners).
Safety, Compliance & Operational Support
  • Follow all MV Transportation and City of Roseville safety procedures, including proper use of PPE, safe chemical handling, and adherence to environmental regulations.
  • Maintain accurate logs of completed work, fuel usage, cleaning activities, and any issues discovered during inspections.
  • Assist maintenance staff by positioning vehicles for service, supporting shop operations, and completing other utility tasks as assigned.
  • Ensure work areas-including wash bays, fueling stations, and storage areas-remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Respond to supervisor requests and operational needs with flexibility, professionalism, and a strong commitment to service quality.


Qualifications

Talent Requirements:

Minimum Education & Eligibility
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age with a clean, safe, and verifiable driving record suitable for operating company vehicles.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly to follow instructions, complete documentation, and communicate with team members and supervisors.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety across all vehicles and bus shelters.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively to a team environment.
  • Reliable timemanagement skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet operational deadlines.
  • Basic mechanical awareness to identify obvious vehicle issues, safety hazards, or maintenance needs during fueling and cleaning.
  • Comfortable using cleaning equipment, power washers, and basic hand tools.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work around cleaning chemicals, fuel, and equipment while following all safety protocols.
  • Capable of safely maneuvering buses and service vehicles within the yard and designated areas.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by operational needs.
  • Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and a strong commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and customerready transit environment.
  • Ability to follow established procedures, maintain accurate logs, and communicate issues promptly and clearly.

Starting pay rate: $23.45/hour
