Description Job Title: Material Handler Company: Contec Americas Inc. Location: Melbourne, Florida Employment Type: Temporary to Direct Compensation: $14- $20/ hour (depending on level of experience) Schedule: 7:00am- 4:00pm, 7:30am- 4:30pm, or 8:00am- 5:00pm About the Opportunity: This role is responsible for safely and efficiently handling and moving materials throughout the warehouse. This may include receiving, storing, and distributing materials and products, as well as preparing and packing products for shipment. The Material Handler utilizes material handling equipment, including hand trucks, forklifts, step stools, stairs and ladders, to access inventory, maintains production cells material 2-bins, and maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs. APPLY TODAY What You'll Do: Receiving Operations: Receives incoming shipments and compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items against bills of landing, invoices, purchase orders or other records. Visually examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with the shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Routes items to departments and personnel as needed. Records location of inventory and places materials and supplies in stock. Maintains inventory accuracy and monitors inventory levels. Kitting Operations: Pulls materials and supplies from inventory and verifies materials and supplies listed on production orders. Assembles and packages components according to production schedule and customer requirements. Completes kitting for production orders by assembling materials and supplies to match customer orders or production work orders. Maintains kitting accuracy and monitors kitting levels. Shipping Operations: Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet special shipping instructions and Sales Order notes. Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers. Nails covers on wooden crates, binds containers with metal tape and/or plastic pallet wrap as needed. Routes items to departments and personnel as needed. Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED). One to three months minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
