Job Title: Laboratory Technician Location:Johnston,IA Duration:11+months Job Summary: With guidance from supervision, assists technical personnel in general laboratory operations and routine laboratory or information-handling tasks in support of scientific research. Works collaboratively as part of a team to support research and development of plant genome editing technologies. Familiarity with routine molecular biology techniques is preferred. Key Responsibilities: Assist team members in conducting experiments and technical operations Follow established laboratory protocols and procedures Complete assigned tasks accurately and within deadlines Support daily laboratory operations and research activities Help develop and manage daily work plans efficiently Maintain proper documentation of experiments and results Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Genetics, or a related field Preferred Skills & Experience: Familiarity with routine molecular biology techniques, including: Vector construction E. coli transformation DNA extraction (plasmid and genomic) PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work effectively in a team environment Work Environment & Expectations: Ability to follow laboratory safety standards and company policies Detail-oriented with strong time management skills Willingness to learn and adapt in a research-driven environment
