Job Summary

The Medical Receptionist is responsible for providing outstanding customer service to individual's accessing behavioral health services primarily at our Leesburg Clinic, but you may be asked to support other locations as needed. The individual in this position supports program registration, collects billing/insurance information, and delivers exceptional customer service in a medical setting that supports individuals and families seeking services for behavioral health and substance use related concerns.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Meeting with individuals to collect medical billing information and determine eligibility for service fee reductions based upon program guidelines.
- Verifying insurance benefits and entering demographic data in an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Answering and directing general inquiries from individuals, family members, scheduling appointments, reconciling payments and occasional front desk coverage.
Ideal candidates will possess exceptional customer service skills, have knowledge of basic medical terminology, insurance benefits and medical billing protocols and must be technically proficient in Microsoft Office applications with a focus on Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word.
Position Hours: Mon - Fri: 8:30am - 5pm with a required closing shift at least once per month until 8pm. This position may be required to work more than one closing shift per month depending on staffing and program needs.
Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications
-
High School diploma or equivalent; three (3) years of related administrative work experience, preferably in a medical office or health and human services setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with standard office equipment, including desktop scanners, and proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications with a focus on MS Outlook and MS Word.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology, insurance benefits, and medical billing protocols.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) candidates strongly encouraged to apply.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements
-
- Must be available to work 7.5-to-10-hour shifts between the hours of 8:30 AM - 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Must maintain current CPR/First Aid/AED and OSHA certifications.
- Must successfully complete mandatory training, including HIPAA, Human Rights and Therapeutic Options.
Employment is contingent upon successfully passing pre-employment background check to include fingerprinting, credit, NCIC, DMV and TB test. Must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
