Job Summary The Home Loan Specialist / Loan Closing Assistant supports the Closing, Funding, and Financial departments by serving as a primary point of contact for brokers, settlement agents, and internal teams. This role plays a vital part in ensuring loans move efficiently toward closing by answering inquiries, coordinating documentation, performing back-office support tasks, and assisting with compliance-related activities. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with mortgage, title, or escrow exposure, as well as recent graduates looking to start a career in the mortgage or financial services industry. Key Responsibilities * Handle inbound calls from brokers and settlement agents (approximately 15-25 calls per day; may vary by queue) * Respond to portal messages, emails, and chat inquiries in a professional and timely manner * Answer closing-related questions and provide accurate information to customers and internal teams * Troubleshoot third-party orders including title, appraisal, hazard insurance, flood certification, and credit Qualifications Required * High school diploma or equivalent * Strong phone skills with patience and excellent customer-handling abilities * Ability to quickly learn new processes and adapt to change * Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills * Ability to multitask and navigate multiple computer systems * Willingness and ability to obtain certification in Fee Collaboration and Closing Preferred * Experience in mortgage, title, escrow, loan processing, or financial services * General understanding of loan closing and mortgage operations * Familiarity with title companies and title insurance * Experience using Encompass software (preferred, not required) Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Moorpark, CA.
