Glaukos - Senior Director, Market Access Strategy How will you make an impact? The Senior Director, Market Access Strategy will serve as a key member of the global Market Access and Health Economics leadership team, shaping the strategic roadmap for market entry, reimbursement, and long-term portfolio access across global markets. This leader will drive end-to-end strategies that optimize coding, coverage, payment, and Health Technology Assessment (HTA) success for portfolio products, ensuring patients gain access to sight-saving technologies worldwide. This role combines global market access strategy, health economics, government affairs, reimbursement execution, and cross-functional business leadership, requiring deep expertise across pharmaceutical and medical device reimbursement ecosystems. The position will partner extensively with Commercial, Medical Affairs, HEOR, Clinical, Government Affairs, Finance, Regulatory, and regional leadership teams to accelerate adoption and maximize market potential. What will you do?
- Lead the development and execution of global and regional market entry strategies for portfolio products, including payer pathway design, reimbursement frameworks, and access optimization initiatives.
- Direct regional reimbursement submissions and Health Technology Assessment responses, ensuring clinical and economic evidence packages support successful local market access decisions.
- Build and strengthen relationships with government payers, commercial payers, medical societies, advocacy organizations, and key policy stakeholders to advance favorable coverage and payment outcomes.
- Partner with Health Economics and HEOR teams to drive pharmacoeconomic models, cost-effectiveness studies, budget impact analyses, and comparative effectiveness evidence generation.
- Provide strategic leadership for government affairs initiatives, including coding, coverage, and payment strategies with national, regional, and local agencies.
- Develop reimbursement education programs, tools, and customer-facing resources that help providers navigate coding, billing, and payment pathways.
- Deliver executive-level presentations to payer organizations and key external stakeholders to influence reimbursement policy decisions.
- Evaluate market access opportunities for new technologies, future markets, and portfolio expansion initiatives, supporting long-range corporate growth strategy.
- Lead and mentor the Market Access team while providing strategic counsel to senior Commercial leadership on portfolio reimbursement priorities.
- Continuously monitor the evolving reimbursement and policy landscape through industry engagement, society partnerships, conferences, and payer intelligence.
How will you get here?
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Business, Marketing, or related field required
- Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, MS, PharmD, or equivalent) preferred
- 15+ years of progressive industry experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, market access, or strategic commercialization roles
- 7+ years of people leadership experience with global and cross-functional team oversight
- Deep expertise in global reimbursement, payer strategy, HTA, and health economics, ideally within ophthalmology, surgical devices, specialty pharma, or combination products
- Proven success leading international market access strategies, including reimbursement wins across multiple geographies
- Strong track record in business development, portfolio strategy, and corporate growth initiatives
- Established relationships across KOLs, payer organizations, medical societies, lobbying groups, HTA bodies, and policy stakeholders
- Exceptional executive communication and influencing skills with the ability to align diverse global stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to lead across Finance, Regulatory, Clinical, Medical Affairs, Commercial, Operations, International, and Business Development teams
