Primary Responsibilities:

  • Corporate account management point of contact for top revenue client
  • Direct management of account management team to support client
  • Responsible for creating the strategic plans to drive retention and growth in top revenue client
  • Championing client's top project goals within the organization; monitoring progress through execution and ultimately delivering outcomes to support these enhancements
  • Responsible for meeting contractual requirements and SLA adherence for client
  • Collaborates with peers and SVP of Account Management to establish best practices and organizational support/processes for top revenue strategic accounts
  • Responsibility for approval and prioritization of strategic client development & implementation needs
  • Works with the client and account management team to establish strategic long-term and tactical short-term client goals for account growth and retention
  • Responsible for assessing the account managers to identify strengths and developmental needs, determines the profile of the ideal strategic account manager and works with Human Resources to recruit and build a high caliber account management team
  • Manages performance systems to track account management productivity and provide them with the tools, training and other means to reach their goals
  • Represents the organization in important business relationships with assigned clients so that the organization's image is reflected in the most positive manner and where such contacts are critical to the achievements of the account management revenue goals
  • Works with SVP of Account Management in the implementation of processes, systems, metrics, organizational changes, account assignments, performance and capabilities of the account management team to foster and retain the accounts
  • Works with Account Managers, Sales and Operations teams in developing, implementing & supporting strategies to effectively retain and grow existing business
  • Works with Sales to provide operational support during pre-close sales efforts, ensuring prospective clients have a clear understanding of operational strengths, capabilities and clearly defined implementation processes and methodology
  • Works with Account Managers and Operations teams to provide consultative support in identifying opportunities to improve and implement services that strengthen the existing client relationship
  • Effectively navigate the organization to influence decisions in support of client initiatives and effectively remove obstacles to assist the account managers resolving client issues
  • Performs other functions as assigned by executive leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Health Care administration or other related field or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of prior account management/sales/management experience in workers' compensation and/or healthcare/insurance background
  • Financial Modeling, Forecasting/Analysis, advance knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of Products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Advanced understanding of the internal processes and systems necessary for account management to perform job functions
  • Plans, prioritizes, organizes and completes work to meet established objectives
  • Demonstrate ability to listen skillfully, collect relevant information, build rapport and respond to customers and team members in a compassionate manner
  • Proficient communication skills to respond professionally and timely
  • Be in compliance with all UHG eligibility requirements
  • Ability to work a standard schedule Monday through Friday
  • Ability to travel as needed, up to 50% of the time, to clients, conferences, events, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Health Care or other related field
  • 15+ years of account/sales management experience in workers' comp, healthcare/insurance environment
  • Prior workers' comp account management/sales or clinical management experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $134,600 to $238,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
