Nurse Manager - Pediatric Outpatient Primary Care

Under the general supervision of the Administrative Director, the Nurse Manager for our Pediatric Outpatient Primary Care clinics will oversee daily clinical operations to ensure efficient and high-quality care delivery in a pediatric Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting. They will manage nursing staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and guidelines, including infection control and safety protocols maintaining operations and facilities in a state of constant readiness for regulatory inspections. Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and workflows to optimize patient care and staff efficiency. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support care coordination and quality improvement initiatives. Monitor and manage budgets, supplies, and resources to maintain operational efficiency. Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professional development, and staff retention. Address challenges related to serving underserved pediatric populations while ensuring equitable access to care. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Nursing Strong clinic/center patient care management skills Practice management knowledge, including scheduling, customer service methods, regulatory compliance, accreditation requirements, and healthcare information technology Broad knowledge of patient populations served and requirements for delivery of care Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective communication and collaborative decision-making Strong leadership, fiscal, and operations management skills Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, management, and multidisciplinary staff Ability to create and maintain a goal-oriented environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration Knowledge of healthcare information technology and patient care workflows/processes Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory requirements, including legislation, accreditation, licensing, and compliance standards Proven ability to organize work, manage multiple priorities, and delegate tasks efficiently Licensure and Certifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California and/or licensure in a relevant clinical specialty Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Preferred Qualifications Three (3) to five (5) years of pediatric clinical experience Two (2) to three (3) years of progressive supervisory experience Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) or Pediatric Nursing Certification (PED-BC) Knowledge of current and emerging best practices and technologies in clinic/center healthcare settings About UCSF The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is a leading university dedicated to promoting health worldwide through advanced biomedical research, graduate-level education in the life sciences and health professions, and excellence in patient care.
