The Principal Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Team Lead) is responsible for keeping inventory of supplies, managing/troubleshooting/repairing equipment, contacting Facilities, Housekeeping, IT or Clinical Engineering for issues, conducting and monitoring sleep studies, acting as a team lead or resource for the sleep technologists, assisting the team when ratio is 2:1 patient/tech, setting up equipment and patients, training, and scoring tests. The incumbent must be able to work independently, and foster a sense of professionalism and strong work ethic for the teamThe final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.

Required

  • Min. 4 years as sleep tech with 1 working as tech where primary tasks include scoring sleep studies and performing HSATs and/or MSLTs
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and MS office (basic functions).
  • Ability to meet productivity/quality standards; effective time management.
  • Ability to coach/mentor staff and work collaboratively with peers and supervisors.
  • Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations as needed.

Certification

  • Board Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), or RRT-SDS
  • Current CPR BLS.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in science, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong skills in advanced MS office
  • Previous experience in a lead, trainer, or mentoring role

For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
