Food Service Worker, Per Diem

This person works as a team to provide patient food service that is safe, accurate, timely and responsive to the patient's needs. Food service includes stocking and serving portion controlled hot and cold food, replenishing stations, restocking work stations, assembly, delivery and collection of patient trays. The person maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the work stations and equipment. This position is responsible for providing excellent patient and nursing interactions and is looked upon as the ambassador for the department of Nutrition and Food Services. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.

Required qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of customer facing experience within the food service, hospitality or retail industries.
  • Read, write, follow written or oral instructions and be understood in English.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
  • Ability to meet physical demands involved with job duties as outlined below.
  • High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred qualifications:

  • Two years of college or equivalent
  • State of California Food Handler certification or Servsafe certification.
