Job Description
The Organizational Development Coordinator will foster a culture of performance excellence by planning leadership development, and learning and development programs for the college. The position provides organizational design and implementation support to departments and leaders with a focus on coaching and leadership development, talent assessment and succession planning, and workforce planning.

This is an exempt, professional staff position, reporting to the Director for Human Resources.

Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States, as the College does not offer Visa sponsorship for this position
Required Education
Associates degree
Required Experience

  • Minimum of three years of experience in guiding the talent development, leadership development, training, talent planning, and performance management functions in high-growth organizations
  • Demonstrated experience implementing creative, metrics-driven, consultative, and service-oriented talent strategies for organizations


Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, time management, and strategic management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate & promote a continuous improvement culture through HR programming and policies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop relationships and collaborate with multiple stakeholders (leadership, faculty, staff)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Training, Organizational Development, or related field
  • Experience in Higher Education
  • Working understanding of employment law and other government compliance requirements such as EEO, AAP, FLSA, ADA, and Title IX, etc.
  • Working knowledge of an LMS (Brightspace, Vector)
  • HRCi or SHRM certification

  • ATD certification

  • ODCP certification


Hours per Week 40 - 100%
General Weekly Work Schedule
Monday to Friday, generally 9 a.m.- 5.pm.
