Mountain West Bank is seeking a Personal Banker for our beautiful Ketchum branch.

As a Personal Banker, you will support Mountain West Bank's mission to deliver exceptional customer experiences. This position will be responsible for the professional selling of multiple services and accounts to each customer and prospective customer. Is familiar with and promotes the use of all Bank accounts and services seeking the full retail banking relationship of each customer. May act as a Teller as determined by the needs of the branch.

This position is designed for individuals who embody a customer-first mindset with genuine enthusiasm. We are seeking applicants who demonstrate clear communication, provide top-notch customer service skills and have impeccable manners. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job. This position reports to the Branch Manager. This is a full-time, hourly position. Candidates must be available Monday through Friday, 8:45 am to 5:15 pm for a total of 37 hours a week. Rate of pay depends on experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for knowing the features and benefits of all retail banking products and services.
  • May require travel.
  • Responsible for opening new accounts and complying with MWB and GBCI policies and procedures when doing so.
  • Proficient with the bank's High-Performance Growth (HPG) program and actively participates in all aspects of the program including, but not limited to: Tell-A-Friend, Big Days, HPG displays, 2-2-2 follow-up, cross-serve panel.
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges and account histories while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations, and consumer privacy policies.
  • Follows up with temporary signature cards within the appropriate time frames and complies with all procedures.
  • Accurately closes accounts only after trying to retain the customer.
  • Cross-sells bank products and services.
  • Refers customers to the proper department for issues that cannot be resolved and refers customers to other departments for other products and services.
  • Perform Teller duties as needed.
  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

About You

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient keyboarding skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Prior sales experience.
  • Prior banking experience.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of Jack Henry platform.
  • Previous experience as a Teller.
  • Previous knowledge and use of MWB products and services.

Personal Bankers (PB) must be client/customer focused, hold information in the strictest of confidence. The PB must have a technical capacity to navigate our systems smoothly, be thorough and communicate profiently.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position. We offer an extensive benefits package that includes, but is not limited to medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Coverage is available to employees and their eligible dependents in accordance with our written plan documents. You may also be eligible for a health savings account option, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), a health rewards program, a retirement savings plan, including 401(k) and Profit-Sharing plans, short and long-term disability benefits, education and training benefits, and discounts on banking products and services. We also offer a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) plan and paid holidays. PTO accruals begin at .0745 per hour worked for our part time employees up to a maximum accrual of 240 hours per year for certain Full-Time employees. PTO accruals are dependent on position, status (Full time or Part time), and years of experience in accordance with our PTO policy. Most Full-Time employees are also offered 6 paid holidays and Part Time employees are offered pro-rated paid holidays.
