The Role and Team

At Medallia, we don't just manage experiences; we reinvent them using the world's most advanced AI and experience management technology. As our Senior Corporate Communications Manager, you will be the architect of our global narrative, both internally and externally. This is a high-visibility, strategic role designed for a "full-stack" communicator who thrives on building brand equity from the ground up.

We are looking for a proactive strategist who can weave internal culture, executive thought leadership, and aggressive media outreach into a singular, powerhouse brand presence. You will bridge the gap between our internal mission and our external reputation, ensuring Medallia is the first name mentioned in conversations about AI-centric experience management that drives business outcomes.

Responsibilities

Holistic Brand & External Strategy

  • Proactive Storytelling: Design and execute multi-channel communications programs that proactively position Medallia at the intersection of AI and customer experience that transform business outcomes.
  • Top-Tier Media Relations: Cultivate and maintain deep relationships with business (e.g., WSJ, Forbes, Bloomberg) and technology (e.g., TechCrunch, The Verge, Wired) publications, alongside trade and vertical publications, to secure both high-impact features and profiles, and drumbeat core coverage.
  • The New Frontier (AI/AEO/GEO): Lead communications strategy from an AI-first lens. This includes building communications strategy and execution that is architected for AEO/GEO to ensure our brand narrative is indexed and prioritized by LLMs and AI search engines, keeping Medallia at the top of AI-generated insights. It also includes being scrappy and creative in how you use AI in your everyday work and leveraging next-gen tools to advance communications strategy, execution, and measurement.
  • Global Collaboration: Partner with regional marketing leaders to identify and execute localized brand awareness projects that resonate across different markets.
  • Agency Leadership: Direct US and UK PR agencies with a clear direction and expectations, ensuring they operate as a proactive, results-oriented extension of our internal team.

Executive Platforming & SME Development

  • Thought Leadership: Partner with our C-suite and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to build distinct platforms. You will coordinate op-eds, develop provocative points of view, and turn technical concepts into compelling business stories.
  • Speaking & Awards: Curate an aggressive "stage and trophy" strategy, securing speaking slots at premier industry events and winning "Best of" categories and awards for the company, our leaders, and our customers to help validate our market leadership.

Internal & Executive Communications

  • Strategy & Execution: Define the roadmap for how we communicate with our global workforce. You'll ensure employees are informed, inspired, and aligned with our corporate mission.
  • Executive Alignment: Partner closely with the C-suite, Chief of Staff and HR leadership to refine the internal communications roadmap. You will ensure that every employee understands our "why" and is empowered to be a brand ambassador.
  • High-Stakes Messaging: Lead the development of internal scripts, support All-Hands content, and help shape culture-defining initiatives that maintain transparency and momentum.

Crisis & Reputation Management

  • Protective Strategy: Build and maintain a holistic crisis communications playbook. You will be the point person for rapid-response messaging, ensuring Medallia's reputation remains unshakeable in a fast-moving market.

Candidates based in the Tysons vicinity will be prioritized as this role is Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite.
