| Primary Function of Organizational Unit |
The Facilities Department reports directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities Management and is responsible for the planning, repair, renovation, and maintenance of all
NCCU Facilities. |
| Primary Purpose of Position |
The primary purpose of the position is to provide management support to the Director of Facilities Operations, Directors of Utilities Operations and Building Maintenance and Grounds. Duties also include coordinating travel arrangements, providing personnel administration and managing the office, and serving as the HR liaison. This position will oversee environmental reports and the advertisement, recruitment and hiring of new positions, including managing job applications and communicating with candidates and
NCCU Human Resources. In the absence of the Directors, position reviews and approves documents (i.e., time-sheets, leave requests, budget forms, check requests, key requisitions, etc.); supervises the work-study students; develops and updates departmental rules; maintains an active and critical deadline schedule. This position will work closely with senior university administrators, campus departments, and external and internal constituents to assist with the director's meeting logistics. |
| Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
The successful candidate must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel, and PowerPoint,) Applications; knowledge of office and record management; ability to advise and resolve questions, exercising appropriate levels to discretionary judgment; ability to work independently with little or no supervision; to take initiative to see projects and assignments through to completion; to learn, interpret and analyze information to make necessary decisions; to exercise judgment and discretion in problem solving; to plan, prioritize and organize workflow; ability to work flexible schedules; excellent analytical and organizational skills along with written and oral communication skills, excellent editing; great interpersonal skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of individuals in a high pressure environment. |

High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Prefer at least an Associate's degree, with a focus in business, accounting, or management. |
