Nurse Clinician - Perianesthsia Administrative Testing (PAT) Clinic Duke University Health System seeks to hire a NurseClinician at thePreOp Clinic/Preanesthesia testing unit atDuke Regional Hospitalwho will embrace our mission of Transforming Lives Transforming Care. Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm Salaried position:40 hours/week The Nurse Clinician is responsible and accountable for clinical expertise for specific patient populations. The incumbent functions as a clinician, educator, investigator, consultant and leader. Clinical judgments are based on a synthesis of current research, concepts, principles, theories, and outcomes to solve complex problems. The Nurse Clinician functions as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team, contributing to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, and in providing leadership to the organization. Work Performed Coordinates Preoperative/Specialty Appointments
Monitors and communicates patient updates
Sends and/or receives notes/messages from specialty appointments via Maestro in-basket and email
Reviews patient status board (white board) for this week's pending surgical dates
Cross-trains and works as needed in associated nursing functions in perioperative areas Communicates with necessary parties to provide for optimal transitions of care, such as from the outpatient to the inpatient setting Collects and presents related data as requested Orders
Weekly Meeting with Medical Director
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Statistical reporting, analyze trends, statistical analysis, data verification, data coding-general data analysis Pre-employment Physical Capacity Testing Required Minimum Qualifications Education BSN required Experience 3 years of nursing experience required Degrees, Licensures, Certifications Current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina required. BLS required.
