Airgas is looking for an Assistant Plant Manager. In partnership with the Plant Manager, the Assistant Plant Manager is responsible for the maintenance of the facility. This includes the understanding of and ability to explain basic mechanical theory to the team, coordinating with vendors, and establishing preventative maintenance programs and schedules. This role focuses on supporting the maintenance staff to foster an environment where all equipment is properly maintained and operational.

  • Supporting the maintenance of the facility and sharing mechanical expertise with the team.

  • Coordinating with vendors and establishing proactive preventative maintenance programs.

  • Guiding the maintenance staff to foster high operational standards for all equipment.

  • Promoting a culture where all team members adhere to OSHA general standards, Safety SOP's, P/L management, and Labor Cost Management.

  • Workforce Planning/Scheduling.

  • Process Improvement/Quality efforts (Six Sigma Lean).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operational Stewardship: Coordinating plant operations and special projects to advance our budgetary goals and foster a process where products meet or advance our QC standards.

  • Collaborative Partnership: Partnering with regional sales, management, and branch managers to promote accurate delivery requirements and foster high customer satisfaction.

  • Team Development: Cultivating a supportive environment through interviewing, hiring, and coaching employees, while overseeing associate development and performance alignment.

  • Operational Administration: Coordinating shift scheduling and data entry for sales and purchasing, while remaining available for on-call support to ensure team success during late-night or weekend needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates/Highschool Diploma with technical training

  • 3+ years experience in Production Management

  • Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Knowledge of use of computerized management systems

  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree

  • HVAC Certification
