The Senior Regional Director of Critical Infrastructure provides strategic and operational leadership for critical infrastructure maintenance and reliability across multiple assigned regions. This executive-level leader oversees regional teams responsible for maintaining data center infrastructure and ensuring consistent execution of preventive, corrective, and lifecycle maintenance programs across all designated DataBank facilities. The Senior Regional Director is accountable for the development and execution of regional maintenance strategy, vendor management, contract governance, capital and operating budget planning, infrastructure risk mitigation, compliance adherence, and operational excellence. This individual partners closely with senior leadership to ensure all maintenance programs support company objectives related to uptime, reliability, safety, compliance, cost management, and long-term infrastructure planning. This role is responsible for leading large-scale maintenance initiatives, driving standardization across regions, optimizing vendor performance, and identifying strategic opportunities to improve infrastructure resilience and reduce operational risk. The Senior Regional Director also serves as a key escalation point for critical events, major infrastructure issues, and high-impact operational decisions. Responsibilities * Provide senior-level leadership, direction, and oversight for the company's critical infrastructure maintenance operations across multiple assigned regions. * Lead and develop regional directors, managers, and maintenance personnel to ensure high performance, accountability, and alignment with company goals. * Establish and execute strategic plans to enhance the performance, reliability, scalability, and efficiency of DataBank's maintenance programs and services. * Serve as a key partner to executive leadership in developing long-term maintenance strategies, lifecycle planning, and infrastructure investment priorities. * Oversee all regional maintenance contract bidding, vendor selection, contract negotiations, vendor performance management, and service delivery governance. * Ensure all preventive maintenance activities are completed across designated facilities in accordance with company standards, compliance requirements, OEM recommendations, and risk management protocols. * Drive consistency, standardization, and best practices across regional maintenance programs, procedures, and documentation. * Manage and oversee annual operating budgets and maintenance-related capital planning for assigned regions, ensuring fiscal discipline and alignment with approved financial targets. * Partner with the Vice President, Finance leadership, and other stakeholders on budget development, forecasting, variance management, and capital allocation strategies. * Lead infrastructure risk assessments across electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems, identifying end-of-life equipment, operational vulnerabilities, and replacement priorities. * Make strategic recommendations regarding infrastructure upgrades, lifecycle replacements, resiliency improvements, and maintenance program enhancements. * Oversee all break-fix and break-replace capital submissions and implementations related to infrastructure failures, performance improvements, lifecycle initiatives, and reliability enhancements within defined approval thresholds. * Ensure timely and accurate submission and approval of maintenance-related expense requests, repair orders, capital requests, and supporting documentation. * Provide executive oversight of change control processes related to maintenance activities, including review and approval of Methods of Procedure (MOPs), risk mitigation plans, and implementation readiness. * Ensure all maintenance work is executed in compliance with DataBank standards, safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and internal risk management criteria. * Act as a senior escalation point for critical incidents, outages, emergency response situations, and after-hours operational issues impacting safety, uptime, or customer operations. * Assess and resolve complex incidents, complaints, customer concerns, operational issues, staffing challenges, and vendor-related escalations. * Collaborate cross-functionally with internal leadership, operations teams, engineering, compliance, procurement, finance, and external partners to support business objectives and infrastructure reliability. * Lead or participate in executive meetings, operational reviews, planning sessions, and workshops to identify issues, present recommendations, and support strategic decision-making. * Oversee talent management functions including workforce planning, hiring, performance management, coaching, succession planning, training, and organizational development. * Ensure the maintenance organization is appropriately staffed and trained to support current operations and future business growth. * Establish training programs and operational readiness standards for maintenance personnel and data center technicians across supported facilities. * Drive enterprise-level cost reduction initiatives within the maintenance program through vendor consolidation, national agreements, service optimization, and process improvement. * Ensure effective use of maintenance management systems, including ChekHub or successor tools, to drive accountability, visibility, documentation quality, and equipment-level maintenance history. * Ensure all maintenance documentation is complete, accurate, and tracked at the equipment level to validate repair history, maintenance effectiveness, and audit readiness. * Recommend and help establish policies, procedures, standards, and operational frameworks that support DataBank's broader company goals and critical infrastructure strategy. * Perform additional duties and executive-level responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications * 12+ years of experience in data center operations, critical infrastructure, or mission-critical facility environments, including significant leadership responsibility. * 7+ years of progressive leadership experience managing regional or multi-site maintenance, operations, or critical infrastructure teams. * Deep expertise in data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems, including generators, UPS systems, transformers, electrical distribution, chillers, HVAC systems, fire protection systems, and related building infrastructure. * Strong working knowledge of HVAC, fire alarm, BMS, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance program management. * Demonstrated success leading vendor management, contract negotiations, capital planning, budgeting, and operational improvement initiatives. * Experience managing large budgets and balancing operational priorities with long-term infrastructure investment strategies. * Strong understanding of compliance, risk management, change control, and maintenance governance within mission-critical environments. * Excellent executive communication, leadership, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. * Proven ability to lead through complex operational challenges, drive strategic initiatives, and influence outcomes across multiple teams and regions. * Certification or formal technical training in electrical, mechanical, or related critical infrastructure disciplines preferred. * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
