Security Officer - Community Patrol

As a Security Officer - Community Patrol in Reno, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and support daily operations through strong communication and customer service. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through proper channels as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify issues for reporting.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with site protocols, while documenting observations, incidents, and/or daily activities in required reports.
• Support order at the location by communicating clearly with personnel and/or visitors, following post instructions, and assisting with security-related requests as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

• Baton certification is preferred.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
