What to Expect
Tesla's Gigafactory Nevada Factory Design team is seeking to hire an innovative Sr. BIM Engineer. This individual will be responsible for leading a team of BIM professionals and managing software tools and related construction innovation for all A/E/C projects on Tesla's Nevada Gigafactory.
What You'll Do
- Leading 3D modeling within design coordination and design review meetings
- Ensuring high standards of quality regarding Revit Family Modeling, Model Health Checks, and Revit / BIM 360 Maintenance. Responsible for all activities related to REVIT Management, Training and & Support
- Responsible for proper set up and maintenance of large, federated building models involving 8-10 design and engineering disciplines. Projects are typically cloud-hosted and span across multiple internal and external design teams
- Coordinate the model produced by the Design Team, Trade Contractors, and other third-party vendors under their direction
- Integrate the work of both the layout team and various tool-line owners working on a given project as well as coordinating the efforts of the design team using the model for planning and conceptual work
- Responsible for clash-detection evaluation of design model vs construction/manufacturing models to verity constructability
- Creation and initial setup or a fabrication database and ongoing Revit testing and Revit fabrication training
- Development and Management of ongoing efforts for LiDAR laser scanning collection and laser scan management
- Set the course for the digital delivery of the large and fast-moving project, working with discipline leads and executive management
- Provide both management and design skills in support of a detailed and accurate BIM model
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry; preferably with 5+ years of experience in BIM environment
- 3 - 5 years managing a small team of interdisciplinary BIM and design professionals
- Expert knowledge with Revit, BIM 360, AutoCAD, and all Autodesk software
- Experience interfacing with construction and cost control on quantity takeoffs and alignment between Work Breakdown Structure based cost tracking and BIM parameters
- Experience working on highly complex large scale infrastructure projects
