The Assistant Plant Manager coordinates and supports the daily operations and workflow for multiple segments of the industrial, specialty and medical distribution and gas filling operations for a plant. This position assists with guiding and overseeing all gas cylinder processing, ultrasonic testing, and our collective commitment to safety and standards with all Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), SAFECORE, and other business related activities.

Job Duties:
  • Leads and mentors two or more associates involved in activities related to the plant, quality assurance lab, and/or drivers.

  • Coordinates and partners with other Plant Supervisors to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and a cohesive workflow.

  • Promotes a strong safety and standards culture, proactively addressing unsafe acts or conditions to ensure a secure environment for all.

  • Distributes tasks to the team based on customers' needs, current stock levels, and the unique expertise each individual brings. Reviews production schedules and coordinates requirements for the successful completion of team assignments. Maintains meaningful time and production records.

  • Communicates company policies to the team and upholds safety regulations to keep everyone protected.

  • Implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality; fosters a working environment that increases the effectiveness of the team. Initiates or suggests plans to inspire and engage the team to achieve shared goals.

  • Analyzes and collaborates on solutions for work-related challenges or supports the team in navigating obstacles.

  • Partners on team-building actions, such as welcoming new hires, celebrating promotions, coordinating transfers, and supporting performance development and growth plans.

  • Trains new team members and encourages cross-training to ensure continuity and support during team transitions.

    Provides assistance to the Plant Manager with regard to planning and overseeing capital investments.

  • Coordinates the proper inventory levels of supplies and equipment to ensure the team has the resources they need.

  • Additional duties and projects as may be assigned to support the team's success.

________________________ Are you a MATCH? Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience working in a leadership role within a manufacturing or distribution environment. Prefer prior technical experience with compressed gases, gas analysis and gas lab equipment.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Google suite applications and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of how to leverage metrics and related tools to improve production efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Communication skills that ensure a smooth flow of information between self and others through clear speaking and writing, encouragement of open expression of ideas, and effective listening.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Self-starter; self-motivated; well organized; ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Detail oriented with the ability to complete handwritten compliance documentation neatly and accurately.

  • Demonstrated dedication to product quality and customer satisfaction.

  • Candidate must have a valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience utilizing SAP preferred.

Physical Demands:
  • Employee may be required to remain stationary for extended periods of time.

  • Employee may occasionally be required to traverse through office and/or manufacturing locations.

  • Employee will frequently be required to actively listen and exchange information.

  • Employee will be required to observe and assess information received via computer.

  • Requires frequent use of computer and telephone.

  • Occasionally be able to move up to 60 pounds and move more than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.

Work Environment:
  • Minimal travel required.

  • Work space is one that contains moving mechanical parts and risk of electric shock.

  • Requires both indoor & outdoor environments in various seasonal weather conditions. Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from -10 to over 100 degrees.

  • Work environment may contain loud noises and odors that may last for long periods of time or on a continual basis.
