The Role and Team

We are growing and transforming our customer's expectations of the value of Customer Experience (CX). We are seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to serve as a critical bridge between our world-class sales organization, product teams, and our enterprise clients. This role is perfect for a creative, curious professional who excels at telling a compelling story and deeply understands how CX technology is the central nervous system to solve complex business challenges for your customers.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Technical and Business Discovery: Engage with prospective clients to understand their current CX landscape, identify key business pain points, and collaboratively define success metrics.
  • Architect & Deliver Compelling Demonstrations: Design and execute highly impactful, tailored product demonstrations that clearly map our platform's capabilities to the client's specific business needs and strategic objectives. You must be a strong story teller capable of translating technical features into business value.
  • Strategic Go-to-Market (GTM) Contribution: Leverage your expertise to assist in developing and executing go to market strategies, providing essential market feedback and competitive insights to product and sales leadership.
  • Technical Deep Dives & Solutioning: Utilize your ability/flexibility to learn and apply technology quickly to architect end-to-end solutions, addressing technical inquiries, and articulating deployment and integration strategies.
  • Thought Leadership & Industry Expertise: Apply your broad industry experience to act as a trusted advisor to prospects and internal teams, helping them navigate the complexities of digital CX transformation.
  • Collaboration & Independence: Function as a dedicated team player during the sales cycle while also operating as a highly independent worker, managing multiple opportunities with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or comparable consulting role.
  • Previous sales or consulting skills a must: Proven track record of influencing complex, enterprise-level sales cycles.
  • Strong Business Acumen: A deep understanding of common business drivers, financial metrics (e.g., ROI, TCO), and the strategic impact of CX on the P&L.
  • Creative and Curious Mindset: A proactive desire to explore new technologies, innovate solutions, and challenge the status quo.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present confidently to C-level executives.
  • Demonstrated experience with modern software integration concepts (APIs, webhooks, microservices, etc.).
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, Business, or equivalent practical experience.

Medallia is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual base salary range for this position is $145,000-$194,000. This position is commission eligible. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline and combines all of the distinct labor markets within the US. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors. Medallia considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, candidate's work location, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, external market data, as well as, market and business considerations when making compensation decisions.
