General Manager Crayola Experience, Orlando, FL

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the facility operations at The Crayola Experience and the Crayola Store including financial performance, marketing, guest services & experience, maintenance, safety and security, local government, finance and community relations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Responsible for the development of annual financial and operating business plans. Oversee individual managers to develop and deliver the annual operational budget.
  • Partner with location Human Resource Generalist to lead, coach, develop, and retain Crayola Experience's management team with an emphasis on developing capacity in guest service, people leadership and operational excellence. Oversee overall attraction hiring, training and performance management SOPs for front line personnel.
  • Oversee effective implementation of all established SOPs, including but not limited to emergency procedures, entertainment content excellence, cash controls, etc.
  • Collaborate with national team to ensure consistent tone of voice and messaging, as well as scalable media planning and buying strategies, locally.
  • Lead vendor selection and negotiation of business contracts with chosen vendors.
  • Lead/support any design projects to redesign and implement upgrades to CE attractions.
  • Serve as a key leader within the attractions management team (CE Corporate + location GMs) to identify, capture and share learning, best practices and opportunities for development.
  • Participate in the Manager of the Day rotation and assumes overall management responsibility across all department in that role
  • Serves as the primary local liaison with local City/County, Chamber of Commerce and key community leadership organizations. Actively networks with local businesses/attractions to develop strong relationships/partnerships.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:



  • Minimum of 10 years supervisory experience in managing attractions facility operations, budgets, security and safety, facility technology and systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field preferred.
  • Strong judgment of talent to effectively hire, train and reward employees
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Required to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have a good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize work requirements
  • Demonstrated strong ability to collaborate and support internal and external partner goals, public needs, and corporate marketing.
  • Travel to attend regional meetings, visit retail operations and other attractions and attend national and international conventions as appropriate.
