Responsibilities:

The Labor & Delivery RN provides expert, patientcentered care throughout labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period. This role coordinates and delivers safe, evidencebased care by assessing maternal-fetal needs, collaborating with the healthcare team, and supporting patients and families through every stage of the childbirth experience.

  • Serve as a clinical resource by coordinating and prioritizing patient care, delegating tasks appropriately, and anticipating maternal-fetal needs during labor, delivery, and recovery.
  • Provide direct, clinically competent care, including continuous assessment, fetal monitoring, medication administration, and timely interventions to support safe outcomes.
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless, highquality care throughout the perinatal continuum.
  • Educate and support patients and families, ensuring understanding of the labor process, painmanagement options, newborn care, postpartum expectations, and patient rights.
  • Maintain professional competency, including proficiency with L&D equipment, adherence to current practice standards, and active participation in communication, problemsolving, and team cohesion.

Qualifications:

  • State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License or Graduate Nurse License required

  • Degree from accredited academic nursing program

  • Associate Degree in Nursing with expectation of BSN completion within 5 years of hire

  • BLS
