DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports statewide perinatal Hepatitis C surveillance, follow up, and data collection to improve care for infants exposed at birth. The role helps identify needs, strengthen provider awareness, and support public health efforts across Pennsylvania. As a Viral Hepatitis Intern, you will perform the following duties:
- Case Investigation: Reach out to pediatric offices to identify infants who may have been exposed to Hepatitis C
- Linkage to Care: Provide practices with resources and information to support proper testing and follow-up
- Record Management: Maintain accurate health information and track care activities in required databases
- Surveillance Support: Assist with surveillance and prevention work assigned by the Viral Hepatitis team
- Regional Data Gathering: Collect information about insurance coverage and regional linkage to care efforts
- Team Participation: Join weekly meetings to stay aligned with team goals and contribute to group discussions

- This is a part-time internship with a one-year duration, beginning in May 2026, with the potential for extension.
- Flexible hours, Monday - Friday, 15 to 20 hours per week
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements:
- You must be currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor's degree program or higher.
- You must have good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher).
- You must hold Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university.
- You must possess a valid driver's license that is not under suspension.
