What You Can Expect

As our Controls Engineer, Advisor - Power Systems, you will work closely with external EPCs to manage deliverables and ensure project alignment. You will also implement and maintain workflows to track and manage SCADA architecture and device configuration changes. This position can be based in Houston, TX, or San Francisco, CA, and will report to the Controls Engineering Director.




  • Develop SCADA architecture for renewable energy power plants
  • Configure SEL (Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories) devices like Relays, Meters, RTACs etc. are configured correctly to meet the power plant design requirements
  • Manage and support development and troubleshooting activities for multiple projects simultaneously



What You'll Bring



  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or Power System Engineering. In lieu of a degree we will accept a combination years of hands on experience in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or Power System Engineering
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience in developing Power System Controls for BESS/ Solar/Wind power generation systems
  • You are knowledgeable in SEL (Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories) devices, including relays, meters, and RTACs
  • You are knowledgeable in network communication architectures, telemetry, and protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, OPC-UA, and MQTT
  • You have experience with software development lifecycle tools and version control systems, including Git
  • You have experience with programming languages such as CodeSys, MATLAB, Simulink, or Python
  • You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to take initiative and ownership of tasks
  • You communicate effectively with strong written and verbal communication skills



Additional Details



  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy; three days a week in the office
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies



Compensation

Salary Range: $117,300 - $179,860 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
