THE POSITION

The Administrative Officer 2 with the Department of General Services supports important programs that help individuals with disabilities participate in meaningful work. This role oversees compliance efforts and ensures that statewide contracts run smoothly. It offers a chance to strengthen fairness, accountability, and quality in key services. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports compliance reviews, contract administration, and program oversight for services and products provided by individuals with disabilities. It helps maintain quality, accuracy, and accountability across statewide programs and partnerships. As an Administrative Officer 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Compliance Reviews: Conduct reviews of UniqueSource and member agencies to verify records, documentation, and compliance with Section 520
  • Data Analysis: Analyze payroll, expenses, and medical documentation and prepare clear written reports of findings
  • Contract Management: Monitor statewide requirements contracts, review supplier performance, and implement changes in IT systems
  • Quality Checks: Visit member agencies to inspect goods or services and ensure they meet required specifications
  • Market Research: Review price data, industry information, and supplier input to support fair market pricing decisions
  • Program Collaboration: Coordinate with agencies, contractors, and procurement teams to resolve issues and support program objectives

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week after completion of training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must have at least three years of experience in providing payroll, accounting, and auditing services and be able to apply the concepts, theories, principle, and practices.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
