Mgr Plant Quality Assurance

Manages the plant quality assurance function as directed.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Complies withestablished job safety practices, policies and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment.

• Responsible formaintaininga safe and secure work environment.This includes correcting unsafe acts/conditions,participatingin monthly safety meetings, performing monthly safety inspections, and investigating accidents, asrequired.

• Overseesthe maintenance of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements andindustry standards.

• Follows company policies, standard operating procedures (SOP),practicesand Sonoco's Global Code of Conduct.

• Plans, develops, applies &maintainsQuality Systems ensuring conformance to Customer, internal business, and regulatory requirements.

• Develops andimplementscomprehensive quality assurance strategies andmonitorsmanufacturing processes to ensure product safety, integrity, and compliance with established standards.

• Ensuresappropriate useof Quality tools & techniques (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, DMAIC, Lean, etc.)

• Leads and manages a team of quality assurance professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to achieve departmentalobjectives.

• Oversees,facilitates, and drivesqualityroot cause analysis and data driven problem solving methodologies.

• Supports,facilitates, and drives continuous improvement activities.

• Manages,drives, andsupportsRoot CauseAnalysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA)to increasefirst pass yieldwhile also reducing Customer Complaints, scrap, and inspection costs.

• Leadsanddrivesthe Plant from reactionary Quality to preventive Quality.

• Coordinates internal and external audits to assess compliance with SQF standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

• Other duties as assigned.

• Possess Lean Six SigmaGreenBelt.

• Experience and knowledge of value stream mapping and other lean techniques.

• Experience and knowledge of Minitab or equivalent statistical software.

• Experience and knowledge of InfinityQS or equivalent SPC software.

• Experience and knowledge ofpFMEAsand Control Plans.

• Ability to lead and drive gage & process capability and performance improvement.

• Strong and proven leadership to drive toclosureRCA and CAPA.

• Experience and knowledge of ISO or equivalent Quality Systems (Lead Auditor).

• Ability to negotiate with Customers to promote or sell ideas and concepts.

• Proficient in implementing 5S principles for efficient workplace organization and process optimization.

• Ability to effectively instruct and train otheremployees.

• Ability to wearappropriate safetyglasses, hearing protection, clothing, and footwear inappropriate areasand follow safety practices.

Education Required:

• Broad training in a related fieldusuallyacquiredthrougha bachelor's degreeor through equivalent work experience.

• Education Preferred:

• Bachelor's Degree

• Experience:

• 5+yearsof job-related experience

Compensation:

The annual base salary range for this role is from $102,240 to $115,020, plus a quarterly target bonus of 12.5% of base salary.
