Sr. Electrical Design Engineer (PCBA, analog/digital circuit design)

KLA
paid time off, tuition reimbursement, 401(k)
United States, California, Milpitas
Sep 17, 2026

To make electronics, you need chips, wafers, transistors, reticles, and... To make these, you must see, test and manufacture them at scale-faster and better than ever before. That's where KLA comes in. Whether you're early in your career or an experienced professional, you'll solve complex challenges, work alongside brilliant minds and help shape the future of technology.

Group/Division

The Semiconductor Products and Customers (Semi PC) business unit designs, builds and sells KLA's product portfolio to help chip manufacturers meet high-quality standards for technologies like AI, data centers, automotive and electronic devices. Our inspection, metrology, and analytics systems detect and monitor defects across logic and memory chips, specialty semiconductors, wafers, reticles, advanced packaging, process equipment and materials. We also develop technologies for specialty processes, IC substrates, and PCB manufacturing, including etch and deposition, component inspection, and imaging and analytics. The RAPID division leads the industry in reticle inspection solutions, helping ensure high lithography yields and cost-effective semiconductor manufacturing. Its systems support both mask shops and fabs by detecting defects early in the process, enabling faster, more reliable production.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will play a key part in advancing business priorities by delivering high-impact work across your area of expertise.

Lead and evolve global electrical engineering standards, specifications, and design guidelines across a diverse facilities portfolio.

Review electrical designs for capital projects, infrastructure upgrades, and critical facility improvements to support consistency, quality, and compliance.

Guide technical strategy for power distribution, UPS, generators, transfer systems, and other critical power infrastructure.

Partner with cross-functional teams to improve resiliency, operational readiness, and long-term facility performance.

Support renewable energy and electrification initiatives, including solar, battery storage, EV charging, and utility coordination where relevant.

Translate technical requirements into clear standards, design guidance, and executive-ready summaries.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual contributor, willing to take the initiative to provide technical leadership on the assigned project. The individual needs to be able to investigate next generation electrical engineering technology and apply it to the development of the sophisticated systems; able to support the detailed analysis and tradeoffs for the various solutions and provide feedback on which solution to implement.

Main job responsibilities include:

  • Gathering and identifying project requirements

  • Conceptual feasibility studies

  • Project planning, cost and scheduling

  • Analog and digital PCB design using CAD tools (OrCAD, PSpice, LTSim are preferred)

  • Conducting variety of analysis: circuit, noise, timing, thermal/cooling, electrical loads, FPGA

  • Definitions of interfaces with other critical sub-systems

  • Design validation planning, execution, FW and system integration

  • These tasks will require working with other engineering groups such as Mechanical, Optical, Software, Systems and Manufacturing engineering teams, ensuring design, integration and qualification at subsystem and system levels

  • Occasional travel up to 10% will be required

Qualifications:

The candidate is expected to be self-driven, independent and to possess excellent oral and written communication skills to successfully collaborate with our accomplished engineering team.
