POSITION SUMMARY The Regional Director of Pharmacy will be responsible for leading, implementing, and measuring all Pharmacy Services both clinical and operational, in an effort to improve quality, trend outcome and reduce cost. Responsibilities also include leadership, strategy development, collaboration, research, standardization, utilization management, regulatory compliance, and development and execution of new and proven cost savings, clinical initiatives, and operational workflows.
This individual will support the hospital pharmacy directors and associated management teams, as well as work collaboratively with the AHS Supply Chain and Pharmacy Corporate Team. This position is ultimately responsible for developing the pharmacy business strategy to optimize and enhance results across both Divisions and execute on the corporate pharmacy agenda.
Responsibilities
- Promote multi-disciplinary teamwork in order to meet AHS goals and objectives.
- Manage the Divisions' clinical and operational processes specific to pharmacy to ensure achievement of theAHS goals and objectives.
- Contribute to the content development for clinical or operational initiatives. Theprimary focus will be developing therapeutic formularies for key pharmaceutical product lines both at the Division and Corporate levels.
- Develop additional new processes for Divisional and/or AHS Standardization.
- Provide guidance and oversight for utilization of cost effective Oncology, Hematology and Immunological therapies.
- Contribute information to the AHS Tracker specific for Pharmacy.
- Cultivate a culture of safety, accountability and foster opportunities for pharmacy staff development.
- Develop special projects, as necessary.
- Maintain effective communications with AHS Corporate, Division Leadership, Division Supply Chain, and hospital leadership.
- Identify best practices and trends in the pharmaceutical industry, whileimplementing activities in Supply Chain to enhance operations.
- Develop and maintain a monthly Pharmacy Webex to provide communication to all DOPs and pharmacy management that highlightsclinical and operational initiatives and trends.
- Participate in all Corporate and Division Supply Chain activities, including conference calls for large and small groups, and variousgroup presentations, as necessary.
- Assist in developing key pharmacy business process models to be implemented across AHS or Divisions.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy required.
- More than 5 years of experience in hospital or health care multi-hospital system pharmacy leadership.
- Pharmacist License, in good standing with State Board of Pharmacy.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Residency training preferred.
