THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on auditing financial and operational information related to natural gas production, storage, and hard mineral leases to ensure accuracy and compliance. The work supports responsible production reporting, royalty payments, and adherence to lease terms. As an Auditor 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Audit Processes: Review complex financial statements and production data for accuracy and compliance
  • Field Activities: Visit well pads and compressor stations to observe and document metering and reporting methods
  • Data Analysis: Evaluate pricing, volume data, deductions, and royalties to confirm correct payments to the Commonwealth
  • Reporting Work: Prepare audit summaries, communicate findings, and support resolution of questioned items
  • Coordination Tasks: Work with management, legal counsel, and contractors to ensure proper enforcement of lease requirements
  • Record Management: Maintain financial records, databases, and audit documentation to support program integrity

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 5 days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Auditor 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of auditing experience and four years of accounting and/or additional auditing work; and fifteen (15) college level credits in accounting; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which includes fifteen (15) college level credits in accounting and one year of auditing experience.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires possession of a valid Class C Driver's License.
