Job Summary

The Lead Analyst, Electric FP&A will lead the coordination and perform financial analyses, reporting, and planning associated with Electric Operations. This role ensures alignment between business units, regulatory requirements and financial impact, as well as provides high-quality insights and reporting to senior leadership.



In addition to performing financial analyses, this position partners closely with Regulatory Accounting, Corporate Accounting, and other subject matter experts to maintain appropriate financial records, aligned with Regulatory requirements.



The role also supports Accounting and corporate governance including oversight of SOX control activities and cost allocation methodology.

Essential Functions

Key Responsibilities


Planning and Forecasting



  • Liaison between broader FP&A team to gather information related to Capital and Operating & Maintenance (O&M) spend both on a monthly basis for monthly forecast and on an annual basis for financial plan.
  • Collaborate with Margin, Regulatory and Accounting teams to forecast financial impact on earnings, including but not limited to revenue, D&A, indirect taxes.
  • Support Electric Operations FP&A Manager in the production of actual and forecasting reports monthly, and as needed.


Financial Reporting



  • Prepare and provide input for accurate and timely financial reports, including information to be reported in Electric Operations and Enterprise-wide monthly financial reports for senior leadership team to leadership.
  • Coordinate with other FP&A team members to produce a timely and accurate production of annual plan, monthly forecasts, and any financial information required for Regulatory filings to meet stakeholder requirements.


  • Perform Plan vs. Actuals analysis and ad-hoc reports as needed to assist in operational decisions.


Financial Analysis and Insights Analysis



  • Provide trend analysis and financial insights which influence key business decisions.
  • Support FP&A, broader CFO organization and Regulatory organization with any other insights and analysis as required.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the depth and quality of financial planning and analysis.


Corporate Governance



  • Perform SOX control activities on a timely basis.
  • Perform analyses and update corporate cost allocation calculations to ensure accurate financial impact on a monthly basis.


Additional Responsibilities



  • Collaborate with Corporate Accounting and Regulatory Accounting teams to ensure accurate bookkeeping of financial impact.

Education Description

Minimum Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent related experience. Engineering degree will also be considered if accompanied by relevant Finance or Accounting experience.
  • 5 years of related experience such as Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounting, or Project Financial Analysis.



Experience

Recommended Education and Experience



  • 8 years or more of related experience such as Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounting, or Project Financial Analysis.
  • Experience in Utility industry or Regulated business preferred.
  • Experience in coordinating and working with various functions in an organization (Operations, Regulatory, Finance, Accounting).
