Responsibilities: * Experience developing assembly processes for microelectronic components. * Experience with die attach, wire bonding, flip chip, under-fill, encapsulation, hermetic sealing and packaging process solutions are required. * Write specifications (requirements specifications, design specifications, test specifications, etc.). * Follow engineering design methodology processes. * Follow project plan and report project status to leadership. * Assist with quoting and scheduling activities required to complete the Design service deliverables. * Process engineering change orders. * Interact with vendors to order components and ensure proper fabrication of outsourced components. * Coordinate process development and improvement. * Communicate technical challenges and work with peers to implement solutions. * Assist in the analysis and selection of appropriate components for customer products. * Interpret basic prints to build cables, electrical panels and machine wiring. * Recommend alternative design solutions using sound engineering principles and techniques. * Participates in continuous improvement activities. * Interface/communicate with internal and external customers, for relatively standard products, regarding project requirements and status. * Communicate with customer technical personnel regarding technical issues, under the guidance of senior technicians or engineers. * Develop and follow project plan; Report project status to leadership. * Provides project leadership, mentoring and training for work group members. * Provides project level leadership and organization, as required, for multiple concurrent projects. * Provides research and development for new methods and tools. * All employees are responsible for the Quality of their work to ensure BEI meets or exceeds Customer Satisfaction. * Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues. * Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Often acts as a facilitator and team leader. Other information: * Typically requires a minimum of 6+ years of related experience. Mastery of advanced applications/technologies. * Demonstrate excellent knowledge of the use of standard lab equipment, such as Digital Multi-Meters, Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc. * Demonstrate ability to create and check other's detailed design documentation, applying knowledge of industry standard practices. * Demonstrate strong aptitude for design and fabrication methods. * Demonstrate a strong working knowledge in one or more of the following areas: mathematics, electronics, mechanisms, CAD design. * Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound independent technical recommendations. * Demonstrate superior integration debugging skills for complex systems. Many factors are considered in compensation decisions, including but not limited to skills, certifications, licensures, experience, training, incumbent data, and other business needs.
