Drives overall best value-cost, reliability, asset availability, and lifecycle performance-for assigned propulsion fleet(s) by leveraging operational demand, financial analysis, technical expertise, and industry intelligence. Leads cross-functional teams and serves as the primary point of contact for propulsion program execution, supplier and shop performance, and strategic propulsion system initiatives to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective operation of the FedEx airline fleet.

Essential Functions

  • Lead an Engine fleet Team that conducts financial, operational, and technical analysis on propulsion system maintenance, overhaul, and modification activities to recommend optimal fleet and program strategies.

  • Develop and evaluate business cases using financial modeling to assess lifecycle cost, reliability, and asset utilization impacts.

  • Serve as the primary interface for assigned propulsion fleet(s), providing program leadership and coordination across all management levels.

  • Monitor and manage propulsion maintenance, overhaul, and repair performance to contractual, regulatory, and operational commitments.

  • Lead regular program and performance reviews with internal stakeholders and external repair providers to drive cost reduction, reliability improvement, and schedule adherence.

  • Provide commercial and technical input to propulsion-related agreements, maintenance programs, and service execution to ensure competitive and operationally sound outcomes.

  • Lead negotiation of contracts and agreements, ensuring competitive terms for cost, lead time, service levels, and quality.

  • Oversee execution of propulsion maintenance and support programs, ensuring compliance with airworthiness, safety, and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead cross-functional teams (Maintenance, Engineering, Reliability, Quality/Airworthiness, Finance, Materiel, and others) to drive propulsion performance, availability, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities through data analysis, root-cause investigations, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

  • Provide propulsion market and industry intelligence-including MRO capacity, material constraints, regulatory changes, and technology trends-to influence fleet strategy and decision-making.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Airline/Aviation Management, Engineering, Finance, or other quantitative discipline.

Minimum Experience

Seven (7) years professional, exempt experience that includes:

  • Propulsion fleet, program, or project management.

  • Financial, operational, or lifecycle cost analysis supporting maintenance or fleet decisions.

  • Cross-functional program leadership with emphasis on reliability improvement, cost control, and operational performance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong working knowledge of propulsion systems, maintenance programs, and regulatory requirements.

  • Proven ability to analyze financial, operational, and reliability data and translate insights into actionable strategies.

  • Competence in program and project management, including performance tracking and risk mitigation.

  • Proficiency with business software and analytics tools (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and related reporting systems).

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills for effective cross-functional and supplier engagement.

  • Ability to apply industry and market knowledge to propulsion maintenance and support strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Active A&P License.

  • Strong airline propulsion fleet or engine MRO program management experience.
