Data Engineer

NS2 Mission seeking a Data Engineer to join a growing, collaborative team in Chantilly, VA, focused on building and maintaining scalable data pipelines in a cloud-based environment. This role is best suited for someone with a strong foundation in Python and ETL development who is looking to expand their experience with modern cloud and infrastructure tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines and data workflows
• Write clean, production-quality Python code to support data processing and transformation
• Support data ingestion, transformation, and validation to ensure high data quality
• Work within AWS-based environments to support scalable data solutions
• Collaborate with team members across engineering and product in an Agile setting
• Troubleshoot data issues and improve pipeline performance and reliability

Required Qualifications

• 4-8 years of experience in data engineering or related field (Full Performance level)
• Strong hands-on experience with the ETL lifecycle (design, development, and maintenance)
• Proficiency in Python for data processing and pipeline development
• Experience working in cloud environments (AWS preferred: EC2, Lambda, EKS, etc.)
• Experience working in Agile development environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and improve data quality

Position Clearance Requirement:

TS/SCI with an FSP
