Description

This Department of War enterprise data and analytics program delivers mission-critical capabilities that enable leaders across the Department to make faster, better-informed decisions using trusted data at scale. Leidos Digital Modernization sector is seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer to support the delivery, enhancement, and adoption of enterprise data and analytics products used across multiple DoD organizations.

In this role, you will work alongside government partners, engineers, and other industry teammates to translate operational and strategic requirements into scalable, production-ready solutions. You will contribute directly to product planning, execution, and continuous improvement-helping ensure capabilities are delivered efficiently, aligned to mission priorities, and positioned for sustained success.

This position offers the opportunity to work on a high-visibility, enterprise program at the intersection of data, analytics, and emerging AI technologies. Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Release Train Engineer (RTE), facilitating execution across Agile Release Trains (ARTs).

  • Lead and coordinate Program Increment (PI) Planning, ensuring alignment of teams, dependencies, and delivery objectives.

  • Facilitate ART-level ceremonies including Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt workshops.

  • Track and manage program-level risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring visibility and resolution.

  • Monitor and report on Agile execution metrics, including burndown charts and program performance indicators .

  • Ensure alignment between product management, engineering, DevSecOps, and system integration teams.

  • Support continuous improvement of Agile processes, team performance, and delivery predictability.

  • Facilitate communication and coordination across multiple teams and stakeholders.

  • Remove impediments and escalate issues impacting program delivery.

  • Support integration of Agile delivery with DevSecOps pipelines and system lifecycle activities.

  • Promote adoption of SAFe principles, Agile best practices, and Lean delivery methodologies.

  • Support readiness and execution of system releases across development, test, integration, and production environments.

  • Provide reporting and status updates to program leadership and Government stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline and 8-12 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree in a related field and 6-10 years of relevant experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading Agile teams or programs in a SAFe or large-scale Agile environment.

  • Experience serving as a Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer in Agile or SAFe environments.

  • Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies across multiple teams and coordinating program-level execution.

  • Experience managing risks, dependencies, and cross-team coordination in large-scale programs.

  • Experience working with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, or similar).

  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience operating within SAFe or Agile frameworks supporting enterprise systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) or SAFe Agilist (SA) certification.

  • Experience supporting large-scale DevSecOps and cloud-based programs.

  • Experience coordinating delivery across software, data, and platform teams.

  • Experience supporting DoD or Federal programs.

  • Experience with Agile reporting, dashboards, and program metrics.

  • SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), or equivalent Agile certification.
