The RoleAspenTech, is a fast-paced, growing, high technology company, with a location in Medina, Minnesota.Asa world leader in the Operations Technology (OT) field, AspenTech's DGM develops and supplies state-of-the-artenergy management, optimization, and control software solutions to energy utility companies worldwide.

The Digital Grid Management (DGM) organization is looking for a Sr Principal Project Manager to join the Professional Services team. As a Sr Principal Project Manager, you will lead complex operational technology projects within the Utility Industry. The Sr Principal Project Manager will be responsible for project execution, project profitability and customer satisfaction of some of our largest and most complex customer projects. You will partner closely with customers as a trusted advisor, helping them navigate tradeoffs, reduce risk, and drive real business value. Your deep understanding ofproject management methodologies, utility infrastructure or technology, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability tocollaborate effectively across diverse teams and regions will drive your success in this role. Your Impact
  • Partner with customer leadership as a trusted advisor, shaping strategic decision-making and navigating tradeoffs across scope, schedule, cost, and risk.
  • Lead end to end project planning and reporting, proactively managing risk and framing key decisions through the lens of impact and prioritization.
  • Develop and/or oversee the development of project plans and schedules.
  • Manage the contract change process as needed.
  • Coordinate project implementation plans.
  • Ensure that projects are properly tested, approved and documented.
  • Set the strategy for projects based on the business unit's priorities.
  • Lead and coach assigned project team members.
  • Manage and determine budget, timelines, priorities, and resources for the project.
  • Identify and mitigate risks across the project lifecycle through proactive planning and byimplementing an effective escalation processes.
  • Stay current on industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies relevant to utilityoperations.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Finance/Accounting, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related technical field.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in project, program or business management .
  • Proven experience leading large-scale, complex projects and managing executive level customerrelationships.
  • Experience working in global professional services or product delivery/implementation teams required.
  • Experience with PERT/CPM and Microsoft Project.
  • International project management and understanding of international cultures and business transactions preferred.
  • Electrical utility industry and/or automation/SCADA project experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

Work Location:

AspenTech has a global hybrid workplace for most of our roles. Employees are expected to work in the office 4 days per week and may work remotely 1 day per week, unless the employee has a reasonable accommodation or other approved exception to the hybrid workplace schedule. This role follows our 4-1 hybrid model and is based in Medina, Minnesota.

The salary range for this role is $127,000.00 - $158,700.00. This range represents what we in good faith believe is the range possible for base compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors. This range may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for bonus or variable incentive pay. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, charitable giveback day, medical/dental/vision insurance, and retirement benefits to eligible employees.
