Preferred Reporting Location: Merrillville, IN Way of Work: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) Job Summary The Scheduling Leader directs and prioritizes the scheduling of work and allocation of all resources to ensure timely and reliable service to customers in accordance with the corporate business plans. An individual scheduler will be responsible for optimizing personnel and other resources for a significant portion.
Essential Functions
Lead the planning, prioritization, and direction of work and resource allocation for a significant portion of the LDC's field operations, including labor, materials and equipment Analyze and implement work load level and company/contractor decisions to enable effective resource allocation to ensure budgetary goals are met Responsible for issue identification, tracking and resolution both internally and externally Determine the impact and significance of obstacles/changes in execution of the work plan, prioritize and solve as appropriate Responsible for work direction of clerical resources on an on-going project basis and actively participate in performance management process Identify opportunities for improvement to procedures, processes and/or personnel based on data Develop a proposed solution and partner with the appropriate manager/field leader to implement enhanced improvements Partner with Planning, Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and material handling to anticipate requirements necessary to meet customer expectations and the business plan Define and participate in the achievement of short and long-term corporate business objectives Responsible for partnering with Engineering, Planners, and Field Leaders on work preparation as appropriate based upon financial implications, compliance issues and availability of resources Collaborate with field leadership in the identification and resolution of productivity or performance issues of field resources Identify, propose and support work management system improvement opportunities Understand internal and external customer needs and ensure solutions are developed to address Participate in storm support activities across all districts. Schedulers may be required to assist during storm events outside of normal business hours and report in person, regardless of hybrid work arrangements. Flexibility and responsiveness during emergency operations are essential. This position will primarily support Substations, Structures, and Metering work; however, the role is not limited to these areas and may be crosstrained to support any area of Electric Scheduling, including line work and storm.
Required Qualifications For Position
High School Diploma or GED 1-3 years' experience in Distribution Operations or equivalent work experience Demonstrated leadership skills Demonstrated Project Management skills (analytical and organizational) Demonstrated knowledge and ability to quickly assess and make sound decisions Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications, including Salesforce and SAP or similar enterprise systems. Ability to gather and analyze data to make informed decisions Good communication skills, both oral and written Basic understanding of the utility industry Knowledge of safety and compliance requirements Knowledge of budgeting, construction and maintenance practices and procedures DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Upon Hire

Salary Range*: $82,200.00 - $123,200.00
*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity. Posting Start Date: 2026-05-12
