Position Summary

The Senior Director, Cencora University Operations is responsible for building, scaling, and operationalizing enterprise learning and development capabilities that enable a consistent, high-impact learner experience across Cencora. This role serves as the operational backbone of Cencora University, owning L&D operations, systems architecture, learning measurement and reporting, faculty development, and project and product management.

This leader designs and delivers shared services that bring speed, scale, and operational excellence to talent development while ensuring learning experiences are accessible, measurable, and tightly connected to broader talent intelligence and business outcomes.

Preferred location - East Coast or Central USA, with easy access to Cencora's Conshohocken HQ for meetings and events.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build and scale shared services for Learning & Development, inclusive of L&D operations, go-to-market execution, product and project management, and robust learning measurement and reporting.

  • Design and implement standardized operating models, processes, and service-level agreements (SLAs) that enable speed, scalability, and a consistent, exceptional learner experience across the enterprise.

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the talent development function, ensuring reliable delivery, operational rigor, and continuous improvement.

  • Design and build a Learning Marketplace in partnership with Procurement, Technology/IT, and Finance to elevate learner experience, access, and transparency.

  • Drive operational excellence through process improvement, automation, agentic AI, and a strong orientation toward efficiency, service, and scale.

  • Lead budget planning, vendor management, and resource allocation for Cencora University, ensuring disciplined investment aligned to enterprise priorities.

  • Own the certification, enablement, and ongoing support of Cencora University faculty facilitators, instructors, and experience hosts.

  • Partner closely with Communications and Marketing teams to execute learner awareness and action campaigns across both direct-to-consumer (DTC) and business-to-business (B2B) learning offerings.

  • Establish and deliver enterprise learning measurement frameworks, dashboards, and reporting that inform product enhancements and connect to broader talent insights and workforce intelligence.

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a global team, fostering high engagement and delivering capabilities that have not previously existed at enterprise scale.

Experience and Educational Requirements

  • Extensive experience leading L&D operations, learning systems, or talent development operations in a complex, global organization.
  • Proven success designing and scaling shared services, operating models, and learning infrastructure.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, and enterprise learning platforms and ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead global teams and deliver results through influence and operational discipline.
  • Typically 12+ years of progressive experience in learning operations, talent development, HR operations, or related fields.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field preferred.

  • Deep expertise in L&D operations, learner experience design, and learning systems architecture.
  • Strong program, product, and project management capability in complex environments.
  • Experience designing learning measurement strategies and translating data into actionable insights.
  • Operational excellence mindset with demonstrated success in process improvement, automation, and scale.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budget planning and resource management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across functions.
  • Proven people leader with the ability to inspire, develop, and lead global teams through change.

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
