Air Liquide Advanced Materials Inc. seeks Senior Chemist to work in Branchburg, NJ to complete the job duties below.

Pay: $114,483 - $167,000 per year

Work with the product development team to synthesize, purify and analyze new semiconductor materials and other new emerging products. Work on projects and with groups to develop novel and scalable synthesis and purification, develop analytical methodology, create intellectual properties, interface with various other functions to move the new product to the market. Work on projects to synthesize and analyze novel deposition precursor molecules from gram to kilogram scale. Interface with product management and develop the new product through a stage gate process. Interface with various function groups such as Sales, Marketing, Safety, Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing. Complete the product development data package and transfer the new molecule synthesis to Engineering and Production Group for high volume production. Act as the lead chemist in the cross-functional product development core team. Develop novel and more efficient synthetic processes. Develop new analytical methods for new products. Create intellectual properties for the company. Mentor and train new chemists and technicians. Foster an innovative and collaborative work environment. Provide chemistry support related to various quality, safety or manufacturing issues.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: PhD in Chemistry.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 years of experience with developing new analytical methods for novel products and delivering results, experience with synthesis and purification of air/moisture sensitive compounds from gram to kilogram scale, usage of analytical instrumentation including Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV), gas chromatography (GC), mass spectroscopy (MS) and Fourier-Transformed Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), including operating various types of vacuum systems such as Schlenk technique.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 10% of domestic and international travel.
