Description
This leader will design the end to end labor planning operating model, develop the work breakdown architecture, create Bills of Materials, deploy workforce management tools, and institutionalize a closed loop feedback system that allows standards to continuously improve. Success in the role requires strong credibility in craft heavy environments, deep experience with modularization and planning logic, and the ability to drive adoption across union and non union labor forces Key Responsibilities: Labor Systems Architecture & Standardization
- Design a modular work breakdown system that converts complex, custom work into repeatable physical and labor modules
- Develop Bills of Materials that scale from module to booth to zone to full show, flexing by complexity, size, finish, client tier, and venue constraints
- Define where variability is acceptable versus where standardization must be enforced to improve predictability and control cost
- Establish version control and governance mechanisms that protect labor standards from erosion
Production Planning & Critical Path Logic
- Architect multitrade sequencing rules, gated handoffs, and dynamic resequencing logic for finite capacity environments, trade sequencing rules, gated handoffs, and dynamic resequencing logic for finite capacity environments
- Build planning models that use block based time increments (15-30 minutes) rather than second by second processes based time increments (15-30 minutes) rather than second by second processes
- Create rules for dynamic recalculation of the critical path as modules complete early or late, ensuring downstream implications are visible and managed
Digital Labor Management & Tool Deployment
- Lead deployment of new workforce management and digital labor planning tools for Show Organizer Structures
- Enable module based clocking, automated task triggers, and labor reforecasting through integrations with scheduling engines, ERP, and WFM systems based clocking, automated task triggers, and labor reforecasting through integrations with scheduling engines, ERP, and WFM systems
- Build a closed loop labor feedback model with planned vs actual variance tracking and Root Cause Analysis as part of standard workflows
Organizational Design & Governance
- Establish a centralized labor standards organization responsible for module definitions, labor norms, and system change control
Change Leadership
- Build credibility cross-functionally from Client Services, Creative, Production and City Operations
- Translate labor standards into predictability, fairness, and improved outcomes for field teams
- Pilot, validate, and scale the labor planning system across regions and Lines of Business
Qualifications & Experience:
- Significant experience in industrial engineering, production planning, manufacturing systems, or industrialization roles
- Demonstrated ability to design modular work systems, BOM/BOL structures, and labor standards
- Track record leading multi site production control, planning, or industrial engineering functions
- Experience working within union or quasi union labor environments
- Strong record of driving systemic change and building durable operating models in field heavy organizations
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- MBA or comparable advanced degree preferred
Key Competencies:
- Systems thinking and modular design orientation
- Strong planning intuition across multi trade, constrained environments
- Ability to design and govern closed loop labor planning systems
- High credibility with craft labor and field operational leaders
- Skill navigating the tension between standardization and real world variability
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross functional influence capabilities
