Position Highlights As part of the Enrollment Marketing, Communication & Events (EMCE) team within Enrollment Management (EM) at the University of Arizona, the Sr. Events Coordinator (Conference and Events Planner II) contributes to the planning and execution of enrollment-related events. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Enrollment Events, this position helps design meaningful experiences for prospective and admitted students, as well as other signature recruitment events. Highly organized and forward-thinking, the person in this position will collaborate with partners across campus as well as the EMCE team.

This position will allow for flexible/hybrid work arrangements. Some duties can be performed remotely, but others will require an in-person presence on the Tucson, Arizona campus.

Duties & Responsibilities

Plans, coordinates, and executes signature enrollment events for prospective and admitted students including Campus Preview Days, Admitted Student Days, virtual events, Counselor Fly-Ins, and similar activities under the direction of the Assistant Director, Enrollment Events.

Coordinates and performs a variety of duties which may include vendor selection and management, event registration and communications, schedules and timelines, guest arrangements such travel and accommodations, venue set up and tear down, catering, audio/visual services, and invoices.

Collaborates closely with campus partners involved with enrollment events including campus venues, academic partners, student groups, and more. Supports recruitment efforts across the Enrollment Management division, as needed.

Supervises day-to-day tasks of student event workers. Assist with managing and organizing event supply inventory with support from student workers.

Assist with event reporting and basic budget tracking. Provide input and recommendations for future event enhancements and refinements. Maintains best-practice knowledge of enrollment event strategy within the higher ed industry.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to lift/move/transport up to 25lbs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in AND three years of related work experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education, including experience working within fast-paced various and challenging working and learning environments.
